Santiago spent his formative years in New York City where he attended art school and surrounded himself with other creatives with whom he further explored the arts and design. He spent several years working at some of the world's top fashion houses, including Valentino and Bottega Veneta, and at Bergdorf Goodman, before he started his interior design career. Coupling his life experiences with inspiration drawn from nature and the spiritual world, Santiago cultivated a design sensibility and a style all his own - a meditation of uncommon beauty and function - to create subtly-emotional, living-art spaces that gracefully and fully weave into them the needs and desires of each of his clients. Santiago's designs focus on a deliberate tension between opposites, the juxtaposition of new and old, organic and structural, restraint and the avant-garde. He uses a surprising palette, perhaps taking hues from a tumultuous sea and then taming them to a watery calm. The result is a richly layered space that is at once intriguing and harmonious, peaceful and exciting.
